Most people who need meeting notes carry a phone and a separate recorder, or open an app and hope for the best. POVA's AI Buds Pro try to fold the recorder into a pair of earbuds. They launched in India in August, and the Flipkart price has since slipped below the launch figure.
If you sit through back-to-back calls, lectures or client meetings, the usual routine is awkward: unlock the phone, open a recording app, remember to stop it later. POVA's AI Buds Pro are built around skipping that routine, and the launch coverage from Smartprix explains how.
The pair launched in India at a list price of ₹14,999, with an introductory price of ₹12,499, a ₹1,000 bank discount and no-cost EMI for up to nine months. Sales opened on 22 August on Flipkart and Amazon India. On Startbook, the POVA AI Buds Pro is currently tracked at ₹11,999 on Flipkart against an MRP of ₹19,999, so it sits under the launch price.
The headline feature is a dedicated red Quick Note button. Press it and the earbuds start recording without touching the phone, with up to 4 hours of onboard storage. Afterwards the AI produces a transcript and a meeting summary, and can pull out to-do items. Smartprix also lists real-time transcription and translation across 78 languages. That number is worth checking against your own needs, since a press release elsewhere speaks of 12 Indian languages, so test Hindi or your regional language on a trial before you rely on it in a real meeting.
The rest of the package is what you would expect at this price. Hybrid noise cancellation goes up to 48dB, there is an 8-microphone array with a voice pickup unit, and total playback is up to 40 hours with the case. The case charges by USB Type-C or Qi wireless. Dual-device pairing lets you switch between a laptop and a phone, and the IP55 rating covers sweat and splashes. POVA says users own their recordings, transcripts and summaries, and that conversations are not used to train outside AI models without permission. The source does not say whether the AI features carry usage limits or a subscription, so ask before you buy if that matters to you.
Who is it for? Students, freelancers and office workers who already wear earbuds all day and want notes with no extra device. Who should skip it? Anyone who records in-person interviews or long sessions, where a dedicated recorder is a safer bet. The PLAUD Note at ₹15,990 and the wearable PLAUD NotePin S at ₹16,990 cost a few thousand more, but they are recorders first and do not depend on keeping earbuds in your ears. If you want one device for music, calls and notes, the POVA is the cheaper way in.
