Jio's free Google AI Pro for 18 months: what it is worth and what to check before you claim
Jio users can get Google AI Pro free for 18 months, valued at ₹35,100. Here is what it includes, how the offer widened, and the catches to check.

Google AI Pro normally costs real money every month, and Jio has been giving it away for 18 months. The offer started narrow, then widened, and the exact terms have shifted since, so it pays to know what you are signing up for before you tap claim.
If you already pay for a Jio plan, the cheapest AI upgrade you can make this month may cost you nothing. Google and Reliance Jio announced in late October 2025 that eligible Jio users would get 18 months of Google AI Pro free, a package the coverage values at ₹35,100 per user. Smartprix framed it as a direct answer to the Perplexity Pro deal Airtel had announced earlier that month.
The first version was tightly gated. Early reports said it was meant for Jio subscribers aged 18 to 25 on unlimited 5G plans, and Upstox described it as going to select customers first, with a wider rollout promised. By November 10, 2025, the Free Press Journal reported that Jio had opened it to all prepaid and postpaid customers regardless of age. Our own Jio Google AI Pro deal lists eligibility as age 18 and above with a qualifying active plan, and it warns that terms can change. Treat any single article, including this one, as a snapshot and check your MyJio account for the current rules.
What you get is the full Google AI Pro bundle. The coverage lists higher access to Gemini 2.5 Pro and deep research, video generation with Veo, higher image limits with the Nano Banana model, and 2 TB of storage shared across Google Photos, Drive and Gmail. It also includes the Flow and Whisk creative tools, more Audio Overviews and notebooks in NotebookLM, higher limits in Gemini Code Assist and the Gemini CLI, and Gemini inside Gmail, Docs and Vids. For a student, freelancer or small business owner, the 2 TB of storage alone is a visible saving.
Claiming is done in the MyJio app. Open the app, tap the early access banner on the home screen, sign in with the Google account you want to use, accept the terms, and then open the Gemini app to confirm the paid features are active. No payment is asked for at any point.
The catches are the part most people skip. Reports say the free plan depends on staying on an eligible Jio plan, so moving to a cheaper or non-unlimited plan could end the benefit early. Reports also say you should not have used a free Google AI Pro trial before, and your Google account should be registered in India. Our deal page for this offer currently shows an end date of 29 October, so if you want it, do not wait.
Who should claim: anyone on a Jio plan who uses Gemini, Google Photos or Drive heavily, and who would otherwise pay for AI Pro or more storage. Who can skip: people who have already used a Google AI Pro trial, or who plan to switch away from Jio within the year. If you are a college student on another network, the separate Google AI Plus student offer is worth a look.
