Dreame's cheapest robot vacuum in the L50 line went on sale in India on 6 July 2026 at ₹27,999, and Startbook now tracks it at ₹26,999. It trades the self-emptying dock of its sibling for a lower price, which makes it a sensible first robot for many flats.
Most first-time robot vacuum buyers in India face the same split: spend around ₹35,000 for a model that empties itself, or stay near ₹27,000 and empty the bin by hand. Dreame's July launch put both options side by side, and the cheaper one is the Dreame L50.
The L50 was launched on 6 July 2026 at ₹27,999, alongside the L50 Plus at ₹34,999. Both were put on sale through Amazon.in and Dreame's India website. Startbook currently tracks the L50 at ₹26,999 on the Dreame India store, so check the live price before buying.
What the L50 actually does
Suction is rated at 25,000Pa, the same figure as the Plus. Mopping is done by two rotary mops, and they can reach closer to walls and edges than a single round pad. The mop pads lift about 10.5 mm when carpet is detected, so a rug does not get soaked, and the robot raises suction on carpets. The water tank holds 300 mL with 32 flow levels.
Navigation is by a laser distance sensor that maps the home, with obstacle avoidance and a companion app for maps, room zones and schedules. It works with the usual third-party voice assistants. The battery is 5,200 mAh, and the maker lists up to 250 minutes of runtime. Dreame also claims no hair tangling on the main and side brushes, which is worth treating as a claim until long-term owners confirm it.
What you give up against the L50 Plus
The ₹7,000 gap at launch buys the Plus an auto-empty base station, a 4 L dust bag that Dreame says lasts up to 120 days, and 3D structured light for obstacle detection. The L50 has a basic charging dock only. Its dust box is larger at 400 mL against 230 mL on the Plus, which softens the manual emptying a little, but you will still be emptying it yourself, and in a dusty Indian summer that means often.
Who it suits
Buy it if you live in a small or mid-sized flat, want mopping and carpet handling at a sane price, and do not mind emptying a bin every few runs. It also suits anyone who wants a robot without a large dock taking floor space, since the plain dock is a fraction of the size of the Plus base.
Skip it if the home has a lot of cables, pet mess or small clutter, or if you want a machine you can leave for weeks. In that case the L50 Plus or a self-cleaning model such as the Dreame D30 Ultra, tracked at ₹44,999, is a better fit.
India notes
Dreame lists a one-year warranty and service in more than 160 Indian cities, with installation and pick-up and drop-off in select locations. The launch coverage mentions no bank offers, so any festive discount will come from the store at the time you buy.
