ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 (2026) in India: is it worth ₹3.6 lakh?
A 1.5 kg gaming laptop with a 3K OLED screen and an 8GB graphics chip. What you get, what you give up.
Published 24 Oct 2026
You want one laptop for games, work and the odd AI experiment, and you do not want to carry a brick. The 2026 ROG Zephyrus G14 is the most talked-about answer in India, and it comes with one limit you should know before you pay.
Think of the buyer this laptop is made for: someone who games in the evening, works on it all day, and carries it to college or the office. They want a screen that looks superb and a machine that does not weigh down a bag. The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 with an RTX 5070 is built for exactly that, and Smartprix tested the same model in October 2026. These are the questions people ask about it.
What is it, and what does India get?
A 14-inch laptop that weighs about 1.5 kg and is about 1.6 cm thick, with an Intel Core Ultra 9 386H processor, 32GB of memory and a 1TB SSD. In India the reviewer found a single version on sale, in Eclipse Gray, with the RTX 5070 graphics chip, listed at about ₹3.6 lakh across Amazon, Flipkart and the ASUS India store. Check the live price on the deal page, since laptops move often.
How good is the screen?
It is the highlight. A 14-inch OLED panel at 2880 by 1800 pixels and 120Hz, with about 1,100 nits at its peak and full DCI-P3 colour, and a coating that cuts reflections. The reviewer's one complaint is that the panel is still glossy and shows reflections.
How does it play games?
Well, within limits. In Cyberpunk 2077 at full 3K with ray tracing and DLSS, the estimate is 70 to 85 frames a second, and performance stayed steady over long sessions without throttling. The fans do become clearly audible under heavy load, and the body runs warm if you block airflow on a bed or sofa.
What is the catch?
Memory on the graphics chip. The RTX 5070 laptop part has only 8GB of video memory, and the reviewer notes that very demanding settings at native 3K exceed it, so you lower texture quality. The same limit matters for AI. Eight gigabytes runs small models well, but larger ones need more video memory, which is why people buying for AI should look at a higher tier such as the ROG Zephyrus G16 with an RTX 5070 Ti. The memory is also soldered, so you cannot upgrade it later.
How long does the battery last?
About 8 to 10 hours of light browsing and documents, 7 to 8 hours of mixed work, and 1.5 to 3 hours when gaming. It charges from 0 to 50 percent in about 30 minutes with the 250W adapter, and both USB-C ports accept 100W charging, so a travel charger works, only slower.
What else should you know?
- There is a full-size SD card reader, Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1 and Wi-Fi 7.
- It has no fingerprint sensor, but the camera supports face login.
- The reviewer found the touchpad click stiff and the power adapter bulky.
Who should buy it?
- You want a light, premium laptop that also games well, and you accept the price.
- You mostly play and create, and 8GB of video memory is enough for you.
- Skip it if local AI or heavy creative work is the main goal: choose more video memory. If price matters most, consider waiting for a sale.
